DESCRIPTION:A night of live music\, food\, Loter a cake walk\, and mangonadas!  The Doyle Community Center will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 5\, 2023 from 5PM to 8PM. Festivities include live Tejano music by Destino\, a Loteria cake walk\, food\, drinks and the infamous mangonadas.\n\nThe Cinco de Mayo celebration has been a part of the Mexican culture since Mexico won its battle against France on May 5\, 1810. Mexico was the underdog and they achieved an unlikely defeat against the French troops. Cinco de Mayo in America is all about celebrating the Mexican culture.\n\nKerrville is no stranger to celebrating Cinco de Mayo. In past years\, it was celebrated by blocking off Jefferson and Francisco Lemos streets and hosting a street dance with lots of food booths\, live music and many activities.\n\nAlthough it faded out for many years\, it is now a major celebration at the Doyle Community Center.\n\nThe celebration will be hosted in the Doyle Pavilion. It is free and open to the public.
