SUMMARY:Public Candidate Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Government Affairs Committee and the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce a candidate forum on April 5th at 6:00 pm on the campus of Schreiner University.  The purpose of the forum is to introduce the public to the candidates running for Mayor and City Council positions in the upcoming election scheduled for May 24th\, 2016.  The objective is to inform as many people as possible about the position of each candidate. Those running for Mayor are as follows:\n\nGlenn Andrew & Bonnie White\n\nThere are 6 people running for City Council positions:\n\nPlace 3 - George Baroody\, Gary Stork\, and Vincent Voelkel\n\nPlace 4 - Gene Allen\, John Fleckenstein\, II and James R. (Jim) Hart\, III\n\nThe Mayoral candidates will begin at 6:00 pm and will continue until approximately 6:35 pm.  There will be a short intermission and then the six candidates running for city council positions will be brought forward.  Questions will be posed from the Chamber membership as well as the public.  The event is open to the public and they are encouraged to attend.  This event is sponsored by the Government Affairs Committee with the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce.  Scott Rain\, chairman of the committee\, states\, "This year's Chamber of Commerce candidate forum is a great opportunity for the community to hear each candidate's position on the issues facing Kerrville.  While this is not a debate\, it is an open forum for the public to meet and learn more about all the candidates for this year's city elections.  We encourage everyone to come out and meet the candidates and listen to them address questions from the community."
