On Saturday, December 13 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Kerrville resident Rose M. Hall will be in attendance in our Research Library to introduce and sign her first book, a novel called "A Spirit to Resist".
The novel combines historical fiction and family drama that illustrates the experiences of Elizabeth Ellen Gething's marriage to Arthur Edward James Gething, formerly a barrister at the prestigious Queen's Court, London. Elizabeth emigrated from London to Gray County in 1896 at the age of 26. The stories of their days in turn-of-the-century West Texas provide backdrop for this engaging novel. Ms. Hall interviewed Gething's grandchildren during her research for the book.
For those unable to attend, Ms. Hall's book will be available at our Museum Gift Shop, at Amazon.com and on the website www.Aspirittoresist.com.
