Who We Are Looking For 
The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for an experienced leader that will “put down roots” and make Kerrville home for themselves and their family and become the “Face of the Chamber. This position is the chief executive officer for the Chamber and provides the visionary leadership for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration or a related field; and, their IOM Certification or be willing to work toward that certification.  
The President/CEO is at the forefront of leading the Chamber’s program of work that is set by the Board of Directors to whom this position reports.   
Job Functions and Duties 
The CEO oversees the organizations day-to-day operations, responsible for development, growth and oversight of the Chamber’s resources. The CEO provides accurate, timely, and meaningful information to the Chamber Board of Directors. 
The CEO role includes writing newspaper columns, weekly electronic newsletter articles, emails, policy statements, promotional materials, fundraising solicitation, news releases, etc. 
Public Speaking 
The CEO represents the Chamber and its membershipThis position is often called upon to make both prepared and impromptu remarks, representing the Chamber in public meetings and events. 
The CEO will also conduct a weekly radio interview on seven local radio stations. 
The CEO must be able to express the opinions of the Chamber, keeping personal opinions private; practice discretion; and encourage resolution of problems. 
The ability to set fundraising strategy and conduct or direct implementation is a vital skill. 
The Chamber's success is built upon our ability to listen to member and stakeholder needs.  The CEO must be a good listener. 
Project Management 
The CEO must be able to juggle multiple projects, tracking progress and managing resource allocation. 
Relationship Building 
The Chamber needs relationships at every level. The CEO must be able to build and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships. 
Management of People 
The CEO role has sole authority over hiring and management of the Chamber staffAdditionally, this position must recruit, retain, reward and recognize the many Chamber volunteers.
