Description
Riparian plants grow along rivers and creeks. They are rated by the ability of their root systems to stabilize soil and filter run-off, thereby protecting water quality. This intro workshop will include the function of riparian plants, field identification of the most common and important riparian plants along the River Trail, as well as classroom discussion of non-native species that are now found along the Guadalupe River. Recommended for anyone interested in preserving water quality of the Guadalupe River. Some walking involved. Bring bug-spray. Pre-registration required.
