A night of live music, food, Lotería cake walk, and mangonadas! The Doyle Community Center will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 5, 2023 from 5PM to 8PM. Festivities include live Tejano music by Destino, a Loteria cake walk, food, drinks and the infamous mangonadas.
The Cinco de Mayo celebration has been a part of the Mexican culture since Mexico won its battle against France on May 5, 1810. Mexico was the underdog and they achieved an unlikely defeat against the French troops. Cinco de Mayo in America is all about celebrating the Mexican culture.
Kerrville is no stranger to celebrating Cinco de Mayo. In past years, it was celebrated by blocking off Jefferson and Francisco Lemos streets and hosting a street dance with lots of food booths, live music and many activities.
Although it faded out for many years, it is now a major celebration at the Doyle Community Center.
The celebration will be hosted in the Doyle Pavilion. It is free and open to the public. We ask the public to please bring their own chair due to lack of seating availability.
Come out to enjoy great music, food, fun and games!
