Order Expeditor

SUMMARY:

As an Order Expediter, you will play a crucial role in streamlining our production workflow. You will independently collaborate with various department supervisors to gather updates, push for expedited workflows, and ensure timely completion and shipment of orders. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our production lines meet the demands of our customers efficiently and effectively.  This position requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES:

  • Navigate through departments to inquire about production statuses and potential delays.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, especially in situations where there is disagreement.
  • Make independent decisions regarding order dispatch based on real-time information.
  • Memorize at least 85% of our 150+ SKUs within the first four weeks.
  • Master our ERP system to foresee and coordinate future orders with current ready shipments.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly operational goals.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with executives to discuss progress and goals.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English & Spanish speaking preferred.  English reading a must.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization in English.  Ability to speak & read effectively in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.   Experience in Epicor ERP a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Must possess the ability to think & solve problems & obtain solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Additional education, certification and/or experience in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in a production or order management role is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee must have closed toe, rubber sole shoes to wear anytime they are required to be in the factory. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
