About Us
From Simple Beginnings
Security State Bank was born in the heart of Fredericksburg, Texas and still resides in the former Buckhorn Saloon building at 201 West Main. In 1941 a group of local businessmen saw a need for a new bank to better serve the community's needs. On April 12, Security State Bank officially opened for business in the old saloon building. The white-tailed deer was used as the bank's logo as a salute to the simple beginnings of our first property.
What's in a Name?
In May 1962, Security State Bank underwent the only name change in its history when trust services were added. We are proud to say that is the only time our name has changed as we celebrate over 50 years of Trust Financial Services.
When times get tough, the tough grow
In the late 1980's, when other banks throughout Texas were experiencing difficulty and turmoil, Security State Bank & Trust maintained solid financial performance. This provided the opportunity to grow the market base through acquisitions and new branches. The bank now has branches serving 14 Hill Country communities stemming from our deep roots in Fredericksburg.
Today and Tomorrow
Today, during this time of economic uncertainty coupled with ever increasing regulatory requirements, Security State Bank & Trust remains poised for opportunities for continued growth in the future as a strong privately owned community bank.
We are proud to say that we are small enough to know you by name and large enough to serve your banking needs.
