Description
Hunt VFD, “Home of the Beast” fire trucks, will again have the “Beast Blast 2013”, a Saturday afternoon barbecue, live music, dance and fundraiser. This annual event will be held on 13 April 2013 at the Hunt Volunteer Fire Department main station in Hunt. Starting at 1pm, HVFD chefs will serve the famed “pork butt and sausage” barbecue, chicken, fixings and pie. You can eat while listening to live music by The Danny Feller Band and Exit 505 Band. There is plenty of room for dancing to the music. Festivities will also include various displays of fire trucks, firefighting and rescue equipment and other educational displays. Auctioneer and Hunt Fire Chief Danny Feller will again have silent and live auctions of “world famous” home made pies and cakes and other treasures. Silpada Designs Jewelry will again be sold at the “Beast Blast” with one-hundred percent of proceeds donated to the Hunt VFD. This year’s “Beast Blast” will be sure to have great food and be a real fun and educational event.
Along with the events and vendors from prior years, The Hunt VFD will partner with the Hunt United Methodist Church Health Committee emphasizing Community preparedness and planning. The Texas Forest Service, Kerr County Sheriff’s office, Kerrville EMT’s and Fire Departments, the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Air Ambulance companies. A number of other agencies who respond to floods, fires and other disasters will be invited to participate in the event. This should be an excellent opportunity to get a lot of great information about what to do in case of fire, flood or other disasters.
The purpose of the event is to have a fun and educational afternoon, and to raise funds for the Hunt Volunteer Fire Department operational expenses, equipment and training.
