Our special guest speakers are Brenda Hughes and Pete Calderon.
Everyone should know Brenda Hughes, she is a mother, grandmother, wife, entrepreneur, in service to City and County, an advocate for all pets and women, and event organizer. Her and Husband Own the multiple award winning Buzzie’s BBQ. Currently: she sits as Place 4 City Council member, serves on Board of directors of Kerrville Pets Alive; serves on board of Hill Country CASA; serves as committee member on Kerr County Capital Improvement Planning; served, serves on Mayor’s Public Health Task Force, serves on Kerr County Homeless Coalition. She has also served as Chair of City of Kerrville Food Service Advisory Board.
Pete Calderon is a 6th generation Kervillian, married with an 8-year-old son. Currently he serves: Assistant Director of Community relations & Public Information officer at Kerrville State Hospital; Ranch Manager for Horseshoe Mountain Ranch in Comfort. He has also served on Board of directors of, Kerrville United Way, HILCO Federal Credit Union Kerrville Chamber of Commerce, Notre Dame Catholic School, and Volunteer Services Council for Kerrville State Hospital.
We will also hear a special tribute to Dec 7 Anniversary from Kenneth ONeal. Kenneth was born in Georgia and grew up in Georgia and Florida and his family relocated a lot. Those who know him realize this is why he has never met a stranger. He frequently states, “a stranger is a friend I have not met”. He served in the United States Air Force, attended William and Mary, the University of Maryland, and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in accounting. He is a former Certified Public Accountant. Kenneth became a Zig Ziglar Certified Legacy Coach and Trainer in 2015. His mission is to engage, to inspire, to equip and to serve others to do the same. He is the President of the Morning Rotary Club of Kerrville, Texas where the motto is “Service Above Self”. Kenneth displays this attitude in his work with students desiring an appointment to one of the five military service academies, drug and alcohol rehabilitation for men and women, coaching his business clients, and equipping caregivers for orphans in Rwanda, Africa. He serves as the President of the Morning Rotary – Kerrville, Texas and has been a Toastmaster for more than 20 years.
