About Us

Hill Country Youth Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Our mission is to provide a safe, loving, life enhancing Christian environment for children and young adults. Since our inception in 1977, HCYR has served nearly 2200 residents through our continuum of services including structured care for children with high level needs, traditional family care for those who are ready for more responsibility and independence, transitional living for young adults, and life-long family-based support for alumni. Most residents in our care are affected by the foster care system, though we also welcome private placements.

Because no two people are the same, we provide individualized care to attend to every unique need. At our children’s campuses, we connect our residents with licensed therapists, as well as Enrichment Programs that can help them develop lifelong skills and memories. As a child engages in our activities and programs, we watch for things they do well and interests that persist. Often, a program is created to meet the needs of a single child. We believe that enrichment and healing go hand in hand.
