KERRVILLE, Texas (Sept. 24, 2026) – The Kerrville Fire Department will host its first “Firefighters & Neighbors: Working Together” workshop Monday, Oct. 19 from 6-7 p.m. at the Kerrville Public Safety Facility, 365 Clearwater Paseo.

The free, family-friendly program brings Kerrville firefighters and residents together to learn practical skills that can help keep families and neighborhoods safe.

The Oct. 19 workshop, “Stop the Bleed & Basic First Aid,” will focus on actions residents can take during the critical moments before emergency help arrives. Kerrville EMS personnel will provide hands-on instruction in bleeding control, tourniquet awareness and other basic first-aid skills.

“These workshops give our firefighters an opportunity to connect directly with the people we serve while sharing practical skills that can make a real difference during an emergency,” Fire Chief Eric Maloney said. “Our goal is to give residents useful information and hands-on experience they can take home and share with their families and neighbors.”

No previous training or experience is needed, and all ages are welcome.
